In addition to in-person sessions, I offer teletherapy over video conference or telephone. These sessions are like in-person psychotherapy sessions and the tools and resources used to support your healing in person also are accessible via telehealth. While meeting in person is preferred, telehealth has proven to be a viable alternative when it is not possible or preferred to meet in an office.
While it's not the same as meeting in-person there are many benefits to having sessions using telehealth:
It can be easier, more efficient and convenient for you to access therapy from anywhere.
There may be more flexibility and consistency in scheduling a time that is convenient for you with fewer missed appointments..
You can get the support you need without taking the time or energy to physically come into an office.
The relationship established has continuity if people are sick, injured or unable to make an in-person session but can meet via telehealth.
Data shows teletherapy is as effective as in-person therapy sessions.
Video and telephone sessions can both be beneficial. If video therapy is chosen, our meetings are protected by the use of a HIPPA compliant platform which has security measures in place to protect your confidentiality. Seeing clients, noticing body language and other visual cues helps to provide a more complete picture of how you are doing and what you are experiencing. For some, telephone is a more comfortable option, or at times necessary in the event of technical difficulties. In our initial consult, we determine which method is preferred and the best fit for you.
